Hello,
Parvo Virus in dogs is treated with aggressive fluid therapy. This usually involves 3-5 days of IV fluids, IV antibiotics and GI protectants. The body will clear the virus on it's own, but treatment is aimed at maintaining hydration and treating secondary bacterial infections and sepsis. With aggressive therapy, > 90% of dogs will survive. With at home care, only ~ 30% survive.
Once home, giving pedialyte or Gatorade can help replenish electrolytes and maintain hydration.
The virus is dog specific so transmission was from picking it up either in the environment or from another dog.
I hope this helps, let me know if you have any other questions.

No, that could not happen.
Tampons can cause vomiting due to obstruction. They will swell in the intestines and are a common cause of foreign body obstruction in dogs. If your dog ate a tampon and is now vomiting, then she should be seen and have x-rays of the abdomen to see if she's obstructed. If so, then surgical removal is curative.
