Hello. Thanks for writing in. Hematemesis (vomiting blood) can be cause by gastrointestinal ulcers (including esophagus), lesions in the mouth (stomatitis, gingivitis, periodontal disease), problem with blood coagulation, upper respiratory disease gastrointestinal foreign body, gastrointestinal parasites, heartworm disease or cancer in the stomach or respiratory tract. With any of these issues, she probably needs to be seen by your vet. I would get her in to be seen today. Bloodwork, fecal exam and x-rays most likely will need to be done at the very least, but other tests may be indicated based on these results. Please let me know if you have any other questions. Hope this helps.
