Accepted Answer

If there is an unpaid tax lien, the taxing authority does have the right to seek a wage garnishment and to levy (take funds from) your bank account. Your bank account is not frozen technically it is just at the time of the levy all funds in the account will be taken from your control and ultimately paid to the taxing authority. However, you can negotiate as to how the money that is due gets paid back. If you cannot reach an agreement with the collection agency, contact the taxing authority directly to try to work out something you can live with.
