My husband lost his job and I was pregnant. I had the baby and he now has a new job. The hospital has turned my hospital bill over for collection and they are saying they are going to garnashee if I don't pay by the 31st. We can barely pay our rent and eat. How can I aviod being garnasheed.

Already Tried:
I told the collection lady today I couldn't send 200.00 and she just said she would garnashee. I haven't tried anything. No insurance. No job. The hospital knew that. I should have tried to talk to them but I didn't. I have other bills from the hospital that will be in collections soon. 1700.00 for pain. One shot. Boy.

The collection agency cannot garnish your wages until they first obtain a judgment against you. The process would take at least 60 days.

Thank you. If I send them what I can afford every omonth can they still garnashee at a later time.

Yes, they can still file suit against you for not paying per the financing agreement. You should try to work out a settlement, and in any event make sure you get everything in writing.
