I have a 1987 roadtrek and it is in great shape. I can aquired a low profile airconditioner at a very good price. It weighs 88 Lbs, is it possible to mount it on the roof of the unit.

Hello,
The roof is not designed for this and there is no sub-frame for it.
Would not recommend it.
You should use a home unit as designed at rear.

I have seen older units with standard airconditioners on the roof, however, I do accept your your recommendation. My roadtrek did not have the AC in the back, is there a kit or plan to do that?

The only way I know would be to build up some type of framework under sheetmetal of roof to support the weight. I do not know of any kits. It was not designed to carry that weight in that location.
