Question

I have been married for 9 years. My husband works out of state, a (so-called) friend of his gave my husbands cell number to a woman at a bar and now the woman wont leave my husband alone (it's been about 3-4 weeks). He has told her and text her to leave him alone and I have called her also (only 3 times because, she keeps hanging up on me). She text my husband and told my husband that if I call her again that she will have me taken care of. Is this considered a threat and how can I get her to stop calling him at work without hurting his job? We really don't want to start changing cell numbers because of the importance of his job. He works for Shell and is in charge of the whole dock. I can't chance him losing his job. Do I have any rights as a wife in this situation?

Hello and welcome to Just Answer!

As a wife you have every right to expect her not to be calling your husband period!

When she calls, get her cell number, check to see who her provider is, and report her for cell phone abuse to her company! She has been asked by you and your husband not to call his phone, so report her!

If your husband hasn't done it yet, he needs to let her know that he is not the person, that gave her the number, and his friend should also call her and let her know that she can not reach him at your husbands number!

Let her also know that the threat she issued has been reported and if it continues, she will have problems on her record. After that, tell your husband its best to ignore all calls and texting from her, she will eventually get bored, with someone who will not answer and will move on!

Unless your husband is willing to change the number there is not a lot more you can do, if you report her to her cell phone company, they should take care of it!
