Question

I have Microsoft Vista at home and use Tiscali broadband through and Sagem ADSL broadband dial up connection.

I keep having problems getting an online connection and persistently get the following error messages:

Error 680 - no dial tone.
Error 623 - system could not find phone book for this connection.

If this is due to with a remote computer access connection issue, I do not need a remote computer access and this could be deleted.

Can you prompt how I can clear this dial up connection issue and restore my Outlook / Internet connection to it's previous trouble free status.

hello sir

please open your INTERNET EXPLORER
go to TOOLS and then go to INTERNET OPTIONS

go to CONNECTIONS tab, in the listing you will be able to see your DIALUP connection. just click on it, and then press the REMOVE button.

when done, press OK and leave.

after this operation you won't have any trouble.

This was the wrong solution because it has removed my Tiscali broadband connection.

Also I was still getting the error 623 popping up.

However I have since contacted Tiscali and added the Tiscali ISP and connection details. Since then the internet and outlook seem to be working okay.
