I have a evinrude 1966 80hp electric shift.My question is I have all the wires figured out but the wire that is screwed to the side of the diodes, heavey gauge about 10 I do not have a clue.I changed out motors.

Are you speaking of the diodes screwed into the junction box where your volage regulator is located, which usually mounts down under the splash well, or transom of the boat?

the juntion box no longer there at the splash well.I just bought the boat and had to change out the 90hp that was on it.The model number 80683 c was what the person I bought the boat was going to put on it.The diodes are mounted to the fly wheel housing and the regulator is mounted to the rear of the motor.I thought I had it to one wire of the diodes but I was wrong.my question is I have wiring diagrams to look at for the year of that moter but it is not detailed enough.my questions are there are four wires that come out of the stator that have plug ins.One set are two yellow and the other set is blue and red.The diodes mounted to the fly wheel housing has single wire screwed to the side of the diodes.Can you help me figure out what I have to do with these wires.
