Question

I have a polaris jet ski (2000 year model) that appears that it is not gettig fuel to the carberator. I disconected the fuel hose from the carberator and the tube that it was connected to was full of a blue grease like substance. The jet ski has not been run in several years and has very little hours on it. Does the vaccum created by the carberator draw the gas in from the tank and what should I be looking for?

Accepted Answer

If it has been a few years since it was last run I would first remove and clean the carbs, if it is carburated then yes the fuel pump is on the carbs, the blue stuff could just be the injection oil, does it have a fuel selector switch? I would flush the fuel tank clean the lines and fuel shutoff valve if it has one, and clean the carbs, carbs might need a rebuild kit the fuel pump diapham will come with it as well, and clean the fuel filters.
