Question

I must have done something wrong when I upgraded mu google home page because now when I try to get to my home page (which I've had for a year) I have to click on "Sign in to see your stuff"? Why is this? How do I get rid of this useless and annoying step? I just want to go to my page.

Optional Information

Computer OS: Windows XP
Browser: IE

I haven't tried anything so far. I just click on sign in and fill in my info. Also, it used to be (before I upgraded) that I wasn't asked to sign in every single time, only once every two weeks. How do I reset it back to that?

Hello !!

Lets try this. First sign OFF from google if you are signed in :

Then goto http://www.google.com/ig

Now click on Sign In on top right of screen ONLY IF you are not already provided the Sign In screen.

Then you should get a screen like below

On this page make sure to tick STAY SIGNED IN

Then type username / password and sign in.

Andy,

Actually your advice is what I've already been doing. So, nothing's changed. I don't want to sign in, I jsut want to go directly to my iGoogle home page as before.

Hello !!

So you mean that the webpage does not remember your password ?

Are you using Internet explorer ?

I'm using Internet Explorer. I used to click on it and go directly to my iGoogle homepage. Every two weeks when I'd click I would be sent to a different google sign-in page -- a security feature -- where I have to provide my name and password, then I'd get to my home page. Otherwise, I'd go directly to my home page. So, when I upgraded google about a week or so ago, I must have also gotten this additional problem.

Answer

Hello !!

Lets try a different approach. Please goto firefox.com and install firefox on your computer. It is a faster web browser like Internet explorer.

Once installed, please restart computer. Then goto Start > Program Files > Mozilla > Firefox [click it to start it]

Dont open any Internet explorer window now.

Then from firefox window goto google.com/ig .. and sign in ... when you enter your username n password the first time, firefox will ask you if you want it to remember the password ... click on YES ... and it will remember your password in future

Let me know how it goes
