i have a 1978 20 hp johnson outboard motor..it starts on the 1st pull every time and idles fine..when accelerating it stars to cut out and bog down..so far ,all i have done is change the spark plugs..the bottom plug seem to be oil fouled..however chaning the plugs didnt remedy the missing on accelaration...does his sound more like an ignition or carburetion problem?

Sounds a bit like a bad ignition coil or possibly powerpack.

Take a timing light with you the next time you go out and see if you are losing spark on one of the high tension (spark plug) leads when it begins to lose power.
