I have a mecruiser 888, I need to replace the impeller on the water pump in the lower unit. Is it real difficult and where do i go in after it.

Hello. No, it is not particularly difficult, but I advise you to pick up a manual on the motor first - the Seloc manuals are best and are available online. You'll also need the correct water pump kit for that drive, which will include the impeller, gaskets, etc. The water pump is located inside the lower unit, which needs to be dropped from the drive. You'll need to drain the gear oil first. It is held in place by a series of nuts and/or bolts around the anti-ventilation plate (note that one bolt will be under the zinc trim tab). It is important that the shift be put in forward before you attempt to remove the lower unit. Once the lower unit is dropped you will see the water pump housing, which can be unscrewed and the impeller replaced.
