i have a zanussi zdt6053 dishwasher, and i cannot change the temperature of the cycle and when its closed it doesnt start the cycle. t does turn off and on and displays a green light at 65 degrees. please help. elinor

Hiya,
When you close the door does it feel as though it's locking properly?
Does the appliance make any noise at all?
Are any of the lights flashing or are you getting any error codes?

no there is no noise at all, no other lights and i dont see a problem with the seal. it looks exactly how it did when it worked, only it doesnt automatically turn on when i close it and i cant change the type of cycle.

Hiya,
It's not the seal I'm asking about, there is a switch inside the door.
When you close the door and it locks it makes a connection on this switch.
Hence the reason I asked if it felt it was closing properly.

If it does, you'll need to unplug the appliance and take the decor door off, then take the facia panel off to gain access to the door lock.

Take the wires off the door lock and join them together temporarily.
Switch the machine on and if it starts running unplug it again immediately.
You'll need to see why the lock isn't working and replace either the lock mechanism or the microswitch.
