I would like to replace my thermostat with a programable one; my choice is a lux smart which is compatible with heat pumps ;but not those systems with Auxiliary Heat?what is this my system does have emergency heat feature is this considered aux heat ?hmm..this i am not sure about.
If my choice will not work can you suggest a brand energy star 7 day programmable ,

Most heat pumps systems have a back up heat source.
If you have a gas line going to your furnace, or electric elements then you have an aux heat source.
I would suggest the following thermostat.
