Question

HI. My indoor rabbit has fleas, and I know (from internet research mostly from the House Rabbit Society) that Revolution for puppies and kittens is the recommended treatment. Could you please advise as to dosing her? I do not have a vet for her, and it is not in the budget to take her in for reasons other than emergencies or healthcare crises. Thanks so very much.

Unfortunately Revolution is going to be a prescription only product and would require you to take your bunny in. Fortunately though a different product which is over the counter is just as effective for fleas on rabbits and that is Advantage. You should be able to find this over the counter at some veterinary clinics, and most major pet retailers. Use the small kitten/cat size, and ONLY purchase the Advantage. Do not purchase generic products like BioSpot. Only purchase the small kitten/cat Advantage. Please let me know if I can assist you further.

Hi...Thanks so much. I knew Revolution was prescription only, but I was hoping to find a vet who would sell it to me, and in fact, I spoke w/ one who is willing to sell it to me this morning, but only in the regular cat size. Do you deal w/ rabbits, and have you advised the use of Advantage w/ success? I read that Advantage could be dangerous to rabbits. I mean no disrespect in questioning you...I'm only concerned for her safety. Thanks so very much. I will await to hear from you...we definitely have a flea problem right now. Both my adult indoor cats have them also. Unfortunately, they only love to bite me, and no one else in my family. It's very strange! Thank you! Jennifer

I have used it successfully in rabbits, even ferrets. It is very safe in rabbits. I am not sure where the information you getting is from, but I have used it hundreds of time on rabbits and it works good, with no side effects. The Plumb Veterinary Drug Handbook even has it listed for use in rabbits. So rest assured it is safe. I am glad you asked though that way you know that I am qualified with its use in rabbits.
