Answer

Hello,
As such there may be possibility of bruising during catheterisation.
When the catheter was taken out then there is accidental forceful puling of the foley catheter, , it bruised your urethra (the tube you wee out of). So when you get an erection normally, the urethra is squashed up a little resulting in pain while erection.
You need to undergo a Clinical examination and urine routine examination for further evaluation.
I suggest you to consult your doctor for further evaluation and management.
I hope this helps

is this something that will go away with time or should i see a doctor to make sure that this is the problem. also should there still be this very bad pain this long after surgery

Accepted Answer

Hello,
As you have pain during erection from few weeks it is not normal .
It can be result due to bruising during catheterisation, so if you left it untreated it can result in Urinary tract infection as well.
So it is advised to consult your regular doctor or Urologist for further evaluation and management.
