Hiya,
Obviously we can't see what you are looking at but from the wiring diagram for your appliance the wiring within the appliance uses black for the Neutral and red for the live.
This obviously means you need to connect your live to the connection that has the reds running to it, the neutral to the blacks and the earth to the earth tag.
If you upload a photograph of the terminal block I can confirm it for you.
Hope this helps
Let me know how it goes or if you need more help.
Thanks

There are 6 connectors 3 at the top and 3 at the bottom (as per picture). I need to know to which of the 6 to connect: 1. Live, 2. Neutral, 3 Earth. If you could state top left, middle or right and bottom left, middle or right. Thanks
There's a bit of flash glare at the top right but that looks like the earth.
If it is, then it should be ;
Bottom left is Neutral
Bottom 2 is Live.
Bottom right is Earth
If you have a multimeter you can double check this by testing for continuity between the top left and bottom left connection points.
Between the linked pair and bottom centre.
Between the top right and bottom right.
If the top right isn't connected to the casing let me know.
Let me know how it goes.
Did you check with the multimeter to see if there is connection between top and bottom?
The should be linked as there are wires to both sides of the connector block.
I've just looked at my own zanussi cooker and the wires are on to the bottom connectors.
It shouldn't make any difference if they are connected to the top as they have to link to the bottom ones.
Is the cooker working when connected to the top?
I know the top left is neutral, linked pair is live and the top right is earth.
It's unusual to have to connect to the same connector as the link.
Thanks for your help so far. I have found the wiring diagram. Can you tell me whether (1 & 2) and (2 & 3) are to be joined. (4 & 5) are already joined
OK, this makes a difference.
The top left and top centre are joined, this is the Neutral connection.
The top right is the earth connection.
The bottom 3 should be 1, 2 and 3
These have to be joined and this is where your live connection should go.
Sorry, this is totally different to my machine.
Good luck with it.
What exactly do I use to make the the connection between (1+2) and (2+3). Is it a similar bracket as the connection between (4+5) - which was already joined at the factory.
I have wired, as per the diagram (Live to 1, Neutral to 4, and Earth). Not everything works, presumably because there is no connection to 2 and 3
If there are no links like the one already installed you'll need to make some with pieces of wire.
Once these links are on the rest of the cooker will work.
Sorry to be so much trouble.
Will any wire do, or do you need a particular grade or type of Wire
A piece of the 6mm wire you're using to wire it up is good, just take a couple of pieces of the red wire and make links from them.
Good luck.
Excellent , thanks for letting me know.
Sorry it was such a roundabout way to get to the answer.
Good luck with the appliance.
