Question

my 2001 lincoln ls doesn't start up right awayand i smell gas when it does start. i found the codes: P0175, P0305, P0307, P0420, P1000, P1565. what could be the problem?

So the engine has a long crank? Once it starts does it run or idle rough? Do you notice any smoke from the exhaust? Do you have any problems during normal driving?

yes i have noticed smoke from the exhaust. it doesnt idle rough but runs a little rough unless i down shift into d4. yes the engine has a long crank before it starts

Ok I think you may have a couple of leaking injectors. This will give you the hard start, smoke and the fuel smell. It will also give you the P0175 which is bank 2 lean. Bank 2 are the cylinders 5-8. If the injectors are leaking on cylinders 5 and 7 you will get the missfire codes P0305 and P0307. P0420 is for cat bank 1 efficiency. If you have under 80,000 miles and have less than 8 years in service date this may be covered under the 8 year 80,000 miles emissions warranty.
