Question

My inside and outside unit cut on and off intermittently. When it is blowing, the air is cold. The inside unit will cut off before the outside unit cuts off. I recently had a capacitor replaced along with some sort of electrical device in the outside unit and a fuse in the inside unit. Any idea what could be wrong? I would say that it was the fuse again, but why would the unit run at all?

Hi,

It wouldn't be the fuse , for the reason you mentioned. It sounds like a thermostat problem actually but can also be the blower motor failing or the relay for it.

Thanks

I've always hated the thermostat they installed when I purchased the unit anyway, so I may just try to replace it to see if that fixes the problem. Is this something I can do on my own?
