The transmission fluid on my '05 Mini S with 6 speed manual needs to be changed and my mechanic says the fluid is $60 a quart. Seems quite expensive to me. What do you think?

Took car to my mechanic and he said transmission fluid for my Mini was $60 a quart and I need 2 quarts. $60 seems awfully high for tranny fluid. What do you think and what are your recommendations. Thanks!

Accepted Answer

REDLINE MTL TRANSMISSION FLUID BMW MINI COOPER & S, is the transmission fluid that your BMW takes. I have a website that you can order of off and the price for 1qt is $16.95. So I would say that your Mechanic is over charging for the transmission fluid that you need. Here is that link so that you can see how much they are charging. If you have any other question, please feel free to ask. Thanks
