Question
On start there is a loud clanging noise in engine in the oil pan region. It queits to nothing wihtin seconds but sounds horrible. as of yesterday there seems to be a ticking as well. I would like to note i just installed a rebuilt engine like 30 days ago so god forbid its anything internal although it sounds like it. I did jack it up and it seems the harmonic balnacer is wobbling a bit though maybe 1/4 inch at most, which sounds like a lot but more like 1/8 is my guess. Im not sure if a bad balancer or something could distort the crank which unfortuanely is my guess. Thanks

No the starter i dont even think is making the noise and there is none that i can tell when it is engaged. A important hint although i thought it was meaningless is whenever i turn on A/c however it starts again. I read in a few spots a bad belt could do this even though i dont knwo how a metallic clag can be set off by a belt. Nonetheless i threw some water ont eh belt before start and it was not nearly as bad. The belts looked pretty bad when i put them back on well.
