Question

I have a 1999 Dodge Intrepid, 2.7 The fuel pump runs for only 2 seconds and shuts off, when I hook the pump direct to battery the pump will keep running, I changed all fuses & relays for fuel I think, I even put in 3 used fuel pumps with all the same results, any thoughts?

Answer

I will attach a wiring diagram to help. As you can see the power goes to the relay and then from the relay to the pump. If you have power to the relay and not at the pump ten there has to be a bad wire or connection between the two.

But I do have power to the pump because it will run for about 2 seconds then shut off. I know this because I have the pressure line disconected

Answer

I understand the computer does this on first key up. You need to check for power when cranking and with the key in the on position as it needs power to the pump in all these cases for the vehicle to run.

Not to sound stupid or beat a dead horse but you mean power to the asd relay?

Answer

You must have power to the pump. It starts at the ignition switch goes to a fuse, then to the asd and fuel pump relays and then to the pump. You are loosing power there somewhere?
