Answer

hi, the high pitch noise and grinding is the front brakes. the pad linings is worn out and the pad is grinding into the rotor. the rotor and pads will have to be replaced. your local parts stores should have these parts in stock, but remember to buy the best brakes as this is what stops the car.

autozone pads usually around 45.00 to 60.00 dollars and the rotors are about 45.00 dollars each...

how many rotors are there for me to get and how many brake pads? I really know nothing about my car sadly.

Accepted Answer

there are 2 rotors for the front, and 2 for the rear the pads are sold as a kit, which will have the right and left pads . the brakes should be checked to determine if the rear are ok or just the front. the front are usually the ones that need replacing. so if the front are the only ones that need replacing then you will need 2 brake rotors and a set of pads for the front....
