Hi and thanks for using JustAnswer.com.
If you are referring to the condensate collection pan, it has nothing to do with the operation or integrety of the evaporator coils. You can either remove the pan, fiberglass it, or have a new pan made. All it does is catch water and direct it to the drain line.
