I have a Trane XE 90 furnace. Between that and the airduct (presumably where the filter goes as there was a filter of the wrong size jammed in there) is an ACI electronic air cleaner. The front panel on the ACI electronic air cleaner mentions a filter and an aluminum cell. Can you tell me what type of filter and aluminum cell I need to use as a replacement?

What I found was only for the entire unit which sold for 725.00 in 2004. Nothing is current regarding parts or replacement cartridges. You may end up replacing the unit or using an aftermarket filter that is disposable and not electronic.

Would I need a custom filter? I measure the inside and the dimensions were 18X19X7. Would using a custom filter damage the furnace?

<p>A custom filter will not damage the unit as all replacements are designed with pressure drop in mind. I believe most of the replacements are 5" thick.</p>
