Question

Hi - I have a Trane XE1200 heat pump and the condensation drane pipe unit inside appears to have been stopped up. Water is running into the catch pan and then the unit stops when water fills the catch pan and the kill switch activates. Is it a big deal to open the side panel and clean out the drain pipe? I feel this is something I should do myself on a regular basis. Note: I do change the air filters regularly to try to avoid dust building up in the unit.
THanks!

Hello,

if you can get to the end of the drain where the water is supposed to come out, use a shop vac to clear it. It will not hurt to take a panel off to inspect, but if by chance you can get some suction on the other end it sure goes quick. I am available for follow up
