I live in Hawaii.
Q: By Divorce Decree btwn my Dad and my Mom, my mom has to assign me $28K of monies owed my dad. Her trust states that if I die before her, the $28K owed me will go back into HER ESTATE. I am married and have tw0 sons. Are they entitled to be paid any and debts owed me upon my demise?

three questions--first, in which state was the divorce decree entered? I understand that you are in Hawaii. Second, does the divorce decree give any sort of time line by which the $28K must be transferred to you? Lastly, the divorce decree was signed off by a judge, correct?

Decree states she must protect my $28K with her Life Insurance, so I am suppose to get it then.
