Hello,

I'm sorry to hear of this accident. The jerking can be a sign that there has been a neurological injury (head or spine). The best thing to do is take your rabbit to a vet. A vet can give your rabbit injections that may limit the damage and prevent inflammation.

Your rabbit may also be in danger of going into shock. You may want to wrap him in a blanket for the trip to the vet. Here is where you can find a rabbit vet:

There is no first aid you can do on your own. If there's an injury, you'll need a vet to treat it. If you have more questions, just let me know by clicking on REPLY. I hope your rabbit will be fine.

Answer

I hope it's not serious. It may have been something like a concussion that he recovered from. Since he's so jumpy, you may want to take extra precautions with him. A rabbit's back can be easily broken, and one of the most common ways that happens is through this type of accident.

I hope your rabbit will continue to do well, and that he doesn't have any more accidents.
