Question

2007 BMW 335XI air con/climate control will not cool. When activating, engine rpm changes slightly incating that compressor is engaged. Fuse 15 and 61 are OK. No cooling no matter if auto or manual air distribution. Any suggestions?

Thanks

Optional Information

Year: 2007
Make: BMW
Model: 335xi

Already Tried:
Checked fuse 15 and 61. All air valves seem to work. Auto air distribution stays at full air flow even if blowing hot air?? Display has a warning light every time engine is started, but according to manual, this is low brake fuild. Checked by local garage and found OK.

Info Request

Hello and welcome to Just Answer.

It sounds like the system is low on freon. Have you had anyone check to see if the system is properly charged?

Thanks for the fast answer. This is my first time on just answer and I am not sure about the procedure. I already have booked a time at the local garage to have the freon checked, but wanted to take the next step in case the freon level is ok - it is pretty hot these days :-))

At this time your answer confirms my own findings and I will of cause accept, if that is confirmed by the garage.

But what if the freon level is OK? Will I have to pay again to further get your support solving this little "pain"?

Thanks again

Answer

No, you only have to pay once. It's not nessecary to pay until you are totally satisfied with the help you have recieved.

I have seen 2 common areas where the system will leak on your model BMW. The foremost is the pressure line between the condenser and the compressor and the second would be a damaged condenser form road debris. If they cannot identify the leak by a visual inspection, they should be able to add flourescent dye to the system to identify the leak. I would be pretty surprised if the system was fully charged.

That is a nice system - pay when service delivered. I will tell the garage to look for the leak, but OK they probably know.

I will be back end of this week and hopefully confirm your hints.

Thanks a lot for super internet service.
