Question

Something tripped my beckett burner. I hit the reset button. The burner did it's "pre burn" activity but the breaker tripped again before it actually started up. I have 1/2 a tank of oil. Does anyone have a hint on what I can look at to troubleshoot what the problem could be??

Answer

Sounds like the oil burner motor or ignition transformer is shorting out causing your breaker to trip
