Question

After driving about 100 miles the same day the serpentine belt was replaced, the engine died. Resarted it, left the AC off and drove 220 miles with no problem. While taking it to a mecahnic to get it checked out, it died numerous times. Mechanic checked the codes, found none. He drove it for 45 minutes with no problelms. After traveling 5 miles, it dies again and numerous time as Iam returning to the shop. Today mechanic found no hidden codes, no problem when driving it. I am worried about driving 330 miles home tomorrow. any suggestions? It is Saturday.

Okay, so this is not the supercharged model? Is the check engine light on now?

No. No lights at all. Engine just dies intermittantly.

Okay. This can be a few different problems. THe most common would be the crank position sensor. It is possible that the crank sensor wiring was damaged or knocked loose when the belt was installed. I would have this checked first. The same can be true for the cam sensor also. This is located under the water pump pulley and may have been damaged also. Have these two parts checked out to start.
