Question

I have a 2002 Lexus ES300 that I took to a dealership recently due to the check engine light coming on. I was informed that an Air Fuel Sensor needed to be replaced and it would run about 550 dollars. After doing some research on my own it appears these sensors are quite simple to replace, just a matter of turning a few screws. However, upon further searching, I was informed there are 2 Banks with two sensors each. Is there a way for me to figure out which sensor actually needs replacing, and if I do the work myself, is there additional work needed to set the specs correctly. Or am I just better off paying the boys in the shop an extra 300 bucks to turn a few screws. I took the car to Auto Zone and got codes P1150 and P1155 if that helps any.

Answer

This means your bank 2 sensor 1 needs to be replaced. Here are trouble code definitions and sensor location. You will need to buy a special socket at your local parts store for around $20 other then that it is simple. Let me know if you need anything. Thanks
