Answer

Hello,

Doxies are known for their spinal problems. They are prone to a problem called Invertebratal Disc Disease. This is like a herniated Disc or slipped disc in humans. The course of action would be immediate crate rest. The vet may consider giving a mediation to help relieve the pain and any inflammation. I would also suggest heat for this problem. If you do not have a heting pad you can take a sock and fill with uncooked rice and put in it in the Microwave for 2 mins and apply it to the back area for warmth. The heat will help. I will give you some info on IVDD. Joan
