Question

My 66 GTO just stopped trying to start. One minute it started, the next it didn't. No clicks, no nothing. Car is on jack stands, but now i need to know how to teast whether it is the starter, etc.

Answer

Sounds like the starter could be the issue I would test the wires with the car on for voltage if the starter is getting power then you will have to pull it and have it tested. If the starter is not getting power then you will have to check the connections at the battery. Let me know what you find. Thanks

I want to know how to jump start the car by-passing the ignition switch

Turn the key on take a screw you jump accrosed the lead wire small one from that to the hot wire coming from the battery. If he starter is good it will turn over and that is bypassing the solenoid
