Question

I have an Evolution system with 5 zones. I am in Houston Tx. Twice in the past week the zones have indicated temperatures over the high limit (by as much as 5 degree) yet no cooling was ocurring. When I investigated I found dampers open, fan off (CFM = 0), Cooling Stage off. Changing fan mode from auto to high would eventually get air moving. Then an hour or two later the Cooling Stage would come on and the house would cool down. The first time was in the middle of one of the first really hot days of the season. The second event was in the evening. Nothing is being recorded in the fault log. What is going on? One person I spoke with speculated that the humidity sensor was satisfied and was over-riding the temperature control system.

Hello,

Without a recorded fault means the the sensors are the culprit. If the module gets info that is not satisfied, a fault is recorded. The only way around this is if the information being sent is wrong, thus bad duct and/or humidity sensor. One of the sensors are simply sending no or wrong information.
