i woke up this morning with a headache preceded by numbness in my left hand and arm as well as my tongue and my left side of my lips is that just from a headache?

Answer

It could be a sign of stroke. Usually headaches don't cause these symptoms. I would highly suggest you go to the doctor for a physical examination. This could be a warning sign for you that you need not ignore.

Better to be safe than sorry.
