My friend just called regarding her pet parakeet, whom she just realized that he is sick.
He is down on the bottom of the cage, discharge from the nostrils, fluffed up feathers, still eating millet, not drinking water, and very weak. I also have big parrots, that is why she called me. All vets are closed and the emergency pet vet, will see, but will not treat this bird.
What can we do. I told her to keep the bird warm and that sometimes, you do not realize that they are sick, until they are very noticeble.
What can we do at this point.

Feeding the parakeet millet and keeping it warm. do no know the sex. the bird is down on the bottom of the cage, fluffed feathers, still eating a little millet, weak. I told her to keep the bird warm. discharge from the nostrils. no vet open and emergency vet will see he bird, but will not treat. what do you do on a weeknd.
