1994 mistu eclipse its adleing normally runs normally for about 5 minutes then it starts to cut out, like if the gas is not getting to the engine but it will not turn off. While coasting then it starts to go again but it cuts out again, but it never turns off. I got home and it was idleing normally but if you accelerate it a liitle it cuts back, if you try to run it,you have to change gears before it pics up speed, 2nd, third, founrth, and fifth gear up to 40 mpg max

Already Tried:
I had it checked by a mechanic and was told that intake was taking in to much air to the manifold. He told me that the intake duct had to be replaced, because it was ripped. To make sure I put cilicone on the cracks and covered up the holes and the problem is still their. I replaced the spark plug cables beacouse they were frayed and ripped, the problem is still their. I checked all the air vaccumm lines and they are ok

Answer

It sounds like a problem with you fuel pump and or the in tank filter. To know for sure you will need to check the fuel pressure with a fuel pressure guage. If you do not have access to one you will need to take it to a repair shop.
