Question

I am looking for the proper way to form a Letter of Invitation to a Pakistani citizen for immigration to Florida. We both would like it if it were for a green card / permanent residency. Any information would be most appreciated !
Thank you

Answer

There are VERY limited ways a foreign national from any country can obtain resident status. In no case is it given to anyone based on an invitation.

There are four main methods of immigration to the United States:

through an immediate family relationship,

through the Diversity Visa Lottery Program,

through employment and

through investment.
In order to be eligible to apply for an immigrant visa, a foreign citizen must be sponsored by a U.S. citizen relative(s) or by a prospective employer. Unlike most other immigrant categories, Immediate Relatives (spouse of US citizen, minor child of US citizen, parent of adult US citizen) are not subject to numerical limits under immigration law.

All other preference categories generally have a backlog of applicants waiting and it can take several years for their Priority Date (place in line) to become current.
For an overview of the types of immigrant visas available under immigration law, please see Immigrant Visa Classifications on the USCIS website http://www.uscis.gov/.

You said you were looking for a permanent invitation, not temporary and I have no way of knowing what you know!

There is no "Form" letter.

You can set forth your relationship to the person and the intent of their "temporary" visit. You have to be very cautious no not reference any permanent intent to immigrate, as you did in your question.

You would state what you will provide the person interms of support and lodging. There can be no quid pro quo exchange of services for room, board and other benefits you are giving them.

More important he will have to demonstrate his intent to return to his country. That is done through evidence of his financial, social and employment ties to his home country and that they are so strong that he would not want to jeopardize them by not returning home.

This is a good link on the topic of intent to return.
