Hi, I just updated my question at justanswer.com :
... how do I detect where and repair the oil leaking of my 2004 Ford Explorer ?
I didn't do anything yet.
Thx for reply,
Honestly the best thing to do is to clean the under carriage of truck and the motor.Go buy some oil dye and drive it for awhile. Then take a black light and look for the dye. This will help you alot on finding the oil leak.If it is leaking between the transmission and motor make sure its not on top before replacing the rear main seal.

Ok if you can tell me what is leaking i will send you instructions so you can repair. If you do not know where it is leaking lets try to figure it out.Where on the truck is wet with oil.
Top or bottom?oil pan?
Ok the car is here. I took some pictures of where it looks oily. The car seems not to leak right now and the oil pressure in the dashboard looks normal.

Hi, for now I had replaced th filter by a car maintenance (?) company. They told me to replace the gauges as well and I ordered them. So far I thank you for your help and I think this saved me a good chunk of bucks. I accept your answer now and like to come back to you when I need more info.
Thank you very much.
