Optional Information

Age: 10; Male; Breed: Lab/Retreiver/ger. Shepherd mi

Already Tried:
cleaning the area with an acne wash and drying it once a day for a week. It doesn't seem to be painful. The wash has salicyic acid in it and i work for horse vets and they suggested that to try.

Hello,
Sorry to hear about the lumps.
Lots of possibilities for lumps, but unfortunately, the list is a little longer with a few more concerns at this age.
We still have to think about cysts, abscesses, lipomas (fatty growths), but there are the other things we don't want to think about.

Definitely, especially with 2 that need to be evaluated, it's worth a vet check up. Your vet very well may recommend a simple fine-needle aspirate test on one or both swellings.

A fine-needle aspirate test is performed usually without anesthesia and is very quick. Your veterinarian takes a few needle samples from the lump (the needle is no larger than the needle used to give vaccines). The sample is smeared on to microscope slides and submitted to the laboratory. It is not always as definitive as a biopsy (this is a full tissue sample), but often it can yield enough information to determine if it is anything to be worried.

Hope that helps
