Question

1986 535i - Front end vibrations around 75kph to 85kph, cruising, decelerating or braking. Sometimes severe. Changes with load ie: 4 pax/full tank & boot = smaller vibration. All front suspension maintained regularly with fresh bits & machining including new Bilsteins. Original one(1) family car with books, unmodified except for after market 16" 50/55 wheel/tyre combo. Have original factory alloys.

Question. Where can I get reasonably priced tyres to fit the original mags in Sydney (That's why I bought the aftermarket wheels)?

Q2. If the wheel/tyres don't fix the problem, who is the best BMW man in Sydney please?

Answer

Hello and welcome to Just Answer.

I take it that you have metric sized tires? If so, there is nobody that manufactures them any more so finding them is extermely difficult.

From the description, It sounds like you need the front tires balanced or possibly the wheels may be bent. Ant professional garage should be able to take care of a tire balance for you.

As for a specific shop in Sydney, I can't help you with that one as I am In the U.S. sorry.
