Question

I had to jump start my 06 X5 yesterday and now my gas level indicator, tachometer and onBoard Computer are not working... checked all fuses and they are working... what can else could I check?

Answer

Try carrying out a battery re-set. Disconnect the battery leave it for 5 minutes and then re-connect. You will have to re-set the clock but should rectify the rest of the problems.

Hi Daniel... to disconect the battery should I just separate the "+" wire from the bolt?

I'm sorry, I should have been more specific. The battery is located in the boot. Remove the spare wheel. Under the spare wheel there should be a round cover with a triangular base. This is held in woth 13mm nuts and bolts (4 in total). Un-bolt this and slide to one side. Then remove the brown -ve cable from the battery.
