Could you please click start. Right Click on "My Computer" and choose properties. Select the hardware tab and choose device manager. Do you see any red x's or yellow exclamation marks? Thanks.

Ok. Please click start, control panel. Sounds speech and audio devices. Sounds and audio devices.

When the window pops up. On the volume tab. Do you have the option of checking "Place volume icon in the taskbar" or is it greyed out?

I cannot pull up that window. It shows that my speakers and the audio are working. But they are not. I still have no sound.

What happens when you try to navigate to this window?

Try to do this.

Click start. Run.
Type services.msc and press enter.
Scroll down to Windows Audio. Right click this and choose restart. then see if you can navigate to that window.

I am very sorry but it is not pulling up that window. Mine says playback recording and sound that is it.

Select notebook, aspire, aspire 5920.

For operating system, choose XP home 32.

Then click the download button for the Audio Driver. Save this to your desktop.

When it is downloaded, right click this folder and choose Unzip or Extract all. Then after this it should show you several files. Look for a file named "Setup" double click this to begin installation. When this is done, restart your computer and let me know if the sound works. Thanks.
