OS: Windows XP; Browser: IE

It was working okay and suddenly stopped. Have tried to get the usbhid.sys file to re-install it but don't know where to install it nor if that is the solution. Maybe I should try to direct the search for the file to the usb memory stick to see if that will work?

Can't recall exactly when the issue started. It just occured when I sat sown to the computer one morning about two weeks ago. Since that time I am using another mouse on the regular mouse port. There doesn't seem to be any problem with any of the other USB connections such as memory sticks or my wireless connection to the hub on another computer connected by cable to the Intenet provider.

Have searched for the file and found it listed in three places:

windows\system

windows system32\drivers

windows\drivercache\1386\driver.cab

When I try to copy the file from the USB memory I cannot do so but I have not tried to copy the file to a disk drive and then move it from that drive.
