I have a 2001 Oldsmobile Aurora it runs well most of the time ,but at times it makes a wining sound and when this happens it makes the transmission shift hard can someone help me diagnose the problem?

Hi Jimmy Gracie ,These transmission have a problem with a sticking pressure control soleniod. A trans service, changing the fluid and filter may help,It is worht giving it a shot,if you still have a problem, there is a technical service bulletin it The trans can be scanned for codes,and if you have a P1811,P0748, it can be your problem. I hope this will help you,Jerry.

Occasional problems with this vehicle are failures of the Transmission Pressure Control Solenoid (PCS) and the connections at the Transmission Pass-Thru Connector. Failure of the Transmission PCS is identified in TSB # 00-07-30-002B. Failure of the connections at the Transmission Pass-Thru Connector is identified in TSB # 02-07-30-022B. The cost to repair the Transmission PCS is estimated at $45.61 for parts and $273.00 for labor. The cost to repair the Transmission Pass-Thru Connector is estimated at $10.00 for parts and $65.00 for labor
