Went to the mechanic shop and they showed bent valves by taking out the head.

It's at 125000 miles and it was running smooth before this happened.

Accepted Answer

if there is no damage to the pistons or the cylinder walls and the engine was running ok before this happened then it might be best to have the head redone and the chain replaced.By purchasing a used engine you dont know what you will get for sure,it may smoke or knock or it may have other mechanical failures in it.At this point I would suggest having the engine you have now repaired as you know how it ran before and was ok.Also make sure this shop has some type of warranty for this repair though to ensure that if you have any problems with it they can fix it under their limited warranty if it is related to their repairs.I hope this helped,Thanks Pete

SIx months warranty is what's shown to me. Is that enough to see every thing was fixed right.

6 months is a good warranty, the parts should be warrantied for 12 but some shops only do 6,some places only give a 30 day warranty so six months is pretty good.If you need anything else let me know,Thanks Pete
