does the warning come on all the time, right when the car is started?

Do all of the brake light illuminate the same or is there a dim one?

the warning is NEVER on when i start the car..... it is initiated by stepping on the brake, but it does NOT always happen.....i have tried replacing all the bulb, i have had someone look at my lights when the warning is on the OBC.... i have looked at the lights and everything seems fine! can it have something to do with the cruise control?????

the tail light housings look clean! the outermost tail light.... it has a double filament.... i cannot tell if both filaments are firing. either they ARE or they are NOT. this may be the problem, either way... possible?

Answer

The only brake lights are the inner most light on the bottom level of the tail light. Sometimes aftermarket bulbs can cause this issue. It's rare but it does happen.
