Where is the location of the starter on a '99 BMW 323i? Sometimes when I turn the key, the car makes a loud turning sound, then a crank, but it doesn't turn on. I think it's the starter, but I just can't find it. Can you help?

The starter is on the drivers side of the engine, under the intake manifold.
