Hi retta,
If she is snapping or growling at your dog when your dog looks at her then she is challenging your dog already and is not likely to back down if you bring them both together in your home. So you may end up with you loving collie going through severe stress in her own home or you yourself will have much work to do to keep them both together without any problems.
Granted that if they met on the turf where the husky/pitt resides, then the dog may have felt a bit threatened and was trying to protect what was hers. If it was a pound type setting then there is not much to protect, but it may be wise to see if you can take them both to a neutral place and see what happens. It is usually harder to bring two adult females together than it is two adult males or an adult male and female. Females seem to always want to be the top dog.
